Module assembly resolves Mörby School emergency
Sometimes things can go really fast. Mörby School placed an order with PCS on August 10, and just 17 days later a new school wing was officially certified for use. Staff and pupils were able to use the two new, light, clean classrooms, as well as a general area, toilets and cloakrooms at the end of August.
Water damage sparked emergency
“Our customer, property manager Jaques Sjöstedt, called us and explained the situation. An area of water damage in one of the main school buildings had not dried and would not be repaired before Christmas. Two classes had no classrooms. But thanks to our excellent co-operation, swift decision making, a whole lot of persuasion and good people at every part of the process, it worked,” explains Per-Olof Ekberg from PCS.
“As luck would have it, we had seven of our new quiet PCS Comfort modules ready-built at our factory. The biggest challenge was arranging transport from Värmland to Danderyd during the summer holidays. But with a bit of good will, it worked. Thanks to the builders admirably stepping up to the plate, we quickly had the foundations in place, installed the modules and finished the exterior and interior fittings in a fortnight.”
Mörby School will only lease the temporary school wing for the autumn term. Repairs to the water damaged school building should have been completed during this period, at which point PCS will remove the modules, install them elsewhere, and everything at Mörby School’s playground will return to normal.
First of many projects under council contract
“This was our first project under a recently signed framework agreement with Danderyd council. We have already received another order to assemble another premises. In October we’re delivering a 370sqm pre-school for Kevinge School,” says Per-Olof.
