Thirty-four temporary care rooms during hospital renovation work
PCS Modulsystem has erected a geriatric care unit at Löwenströmska Hospital in Upplands Väsby, north of Stockholm. The two-storey unit has space for 34 beds as well as a common room, kitchen, and a machine room, with a total surface area of 1,985sqm. The ward is an extension to Löwenströmska’s main building and is connected via a corridor. The structure is made up of specially modified modules from the PCS portable module system.
The ward was ready for use in January 2015, and is now on a three-year lease during which time the entire hospital is undergoing a comprehensive renovation programme; once complete, patients and staff will move back into the main building.
Everything is nice and new, with modern power socket, medical gas, hoists etc. Although this is a temporary ward, during the time Löwenströmska Hospital is being renovated and rebuilt, everything in the module-housed ward must be of the highest standard and of course meet all relevant requirements for patient care.
