Hospital wing on a six-year lease
In a short space of time, the neonatal department of Östra Hospital in Gothenburg has added new, temporary premises from the summer of 2015. The modular construction has been assembled on a small green space, and is essentially mounted onto the facade of the main building. The new wing will house administrative functions and accommodation for relatives of neonatal patients during a major six-year renovation of the main building.
The new wing has been assembled using standard PCS Classic modules, but they are fully adapted to meet the specific needs of Östra Hospital. Inside, everything from carpets and wall colours to doors, linings, and tiling are customised for the hospital, and externally, the temporary structure is clad in Cembrit plates to merge in with the surroundings.
This new temporary modular building was assembled by transforming a small grassy area into a hospital wing during the spring, and was ready for use in May 2015. It will now be leased by the hospital for six years.
