From the beginning of 2012, PCS Modulsystem has had a subsidiary, Modulmontage, which assembles and prepares the locales that are set up by building modules from PCS. ”This feels good. We are six men; the group consists of older guys with a total of hundred years of experience working with modular building, as well as some new blood. For a modular building project to flow it requires experience. And when the team works together everything goes quickly, smoothly and easily,” says Ulf Grahn, Managing Director and supervisor fat Modulmontage. In previous years PCS used the same installation company for construction work, RP. When the company’s owners wanted to retire, they turned to their staff. The staff wanted to continue building, but no one was willing to take over the company. So Ulf Grahn was recruited. He had a broad background in the industry and also experience running a business. The new company’s installation team features experienced builders Bengt Östlin, Anders Johansson and Jan-Erik Eriksson and new recruits, carpenter Philip Norell and apprentice Jacob Liljenhag. The first assignment for Modulmontage was a preschool on Mariedalsvägen in Stockholm of 660 sqm, commissioned by the Kungsholmen City Council, which will accommodate four kindergarten rooms. The assembly began on January 2, 2012. As early as February 20, the staff and children were able to move into the fully completed and functional premises. ”There are other modular companies, but what makes PCS extra special to work with is that they always make a little more effort in order to create high quality, build in all the joins and ensure that the result looks like a site-built structure,” says Jan- Erik Eriksson of Modulmontage, who has worked with modular housing for 30 years.
