The best possible working environment for schools, pre-schools, hospital departments and many other applicationsThe new PCS Comfort has been in development for just over a year. The aim has been to create modules that provide the best possible working environment, primarily for schools, pre-schools and hospital departments. Noise reduction is certainly the most important area for creating a comfortable working environment, while also being the hardest aspect of module-built premises. The development work on PCS Comfort has been shaped by the latest knowledge of acoustics.
New building techniques and acoustic dataFrom flooring to roofing, we have used the latest building technologies and acoustic data throughout the designing of these modules. We have tested different materials for the floor joists: every effort has been made to find the right balance between silence, weight and baring capacity. We have increased the thickness of the walls and tested different absorption materials in the floors, walls and ceilings, which also improve the modules’ energy efficiency. New techniques have been introduced throughout the design process. Impact reducing mats absorb the reverberation of sound in floors, and special, heavier boards are used in corridors, which further reduces irritating structural and impact noise. Doors and windows are also optimised in PCS Comfort to absorb sound, as well as to reduce heat radiating out and achieve impressive energy efficiency. PCS Comfort is characterised on the outside by its very own design, a cedar wood façade entrance frames an attractive door.
PCS Comfort dimensionsThe new standard dimensions for PCS Comfort are 3x12 metres, giving a total surface area per module of 36sqm. The new, long module length makes it possible to improve floor plans and devise large, open rooms, for example for canteens, play areas or classrooms. PCS Comfort is also able to tailor units to other dimensions, in shorter lengths and in widths of up to four metres for special requirements. PCS Classic dimensionsThe standard size of PCS Classic is 3x9 metres, which gives a total surface area of 27sqm.
