Homes built quickly and efficiently with high quality energy efficient modules: a PCS-solution for Sweden’s shortage of small apartments. “Our modular concept makes the provision of energy efficient and modern homes easy,” says Per-Olof Ekberg at PCS. The first properties that PCS Modulsystem built, through its subsidiary PCS Fastigheter AB, are in Skräddarbacken in Borlänge, some 215km north west of Stockholm. “A large number of cities and student towns are crying out for one-bedroom flats. In Borlänge there’s more of a shortage of two- and three-room properties. We offer solutions for all types of small homes. In Borlänge, we delivered two and three-room flats in two separate phases,” says Gert Hedström at PCS. The properties incorporate a unique energy conscious module concept that cuts heating costs by about a third compared to conventional flats. “Low operating costs combined with our efficient construction methods means that the rents for these new-build and modern apartments are extremely good value and very affordable – ideal for the young, and for younger and older couples with limited finances,” says Ekberg.
